Identity and print for
a beautiful but overlooked
Birmingham building.

I worked closely with vaabs.co to develop a creative strategy and design that focussed on bringing design quality, sustainability and integrated technology to create  space flexible enough to serve Birmingham’s solo entrepreneurs to enterprise teams.

For the brandmark, which would hero the buildings name, I looked to the building’s former use as home of the Salvation army and the oldest set of Barristers Chambers in Birmingham. This inspired the choice of a font that combines geometric shapes and thick serifs for a beautifully modern identity.

A hexagonal icon is used sparingly throughout, referencing the original skylight that stands to this day and floods the atrium with light. Acting as a symbol of unity of a space aiming to encourage collaboration and contribute to the life and soul of the city.
